They say that Pisces make the best lovers...

Well not being a Pisces myself or dated one I couldn't possibly confirm such a claim. so no kiss and tell here.

Astrology is amongst my many interests and I couldn't quite get the theme to work with my gift boxes or greeting cards. Yet with the tokens its a perfect fit, and since we are already a quarter of the way through the year already I'm using the coming months to share each zodiac Love-token with you.

With the buzz and excitement that February blows in each year which we know as Valentines Day, having now passed us all by, and for those of you in the know and looking forwards to celebrating new birthdays in the latter part of the month, which leads into the astrological sign of Pĭ śces. Today's blog post continues to introduce each Zodiac from the Love-Token Collection according to the astrological month. If you are an Aquārius then you can read the post for your zodiac sign here

Pisces Love-token

Each Zodiac Love Token has a hand written description of the Zodiac sign mentioned and as many facts as I could include on each tile. The symbol itself is finished in a dark gold bold astrological symbol and lays on a background of pencil crayoned colour shaded paper, the text is then applied by hand.

Originally created to be tea coasters, but hey come on now they are just too attractive and others too decorative to be hidden and covered in coffee stains.

So with that in mind, they were destined to be decoratively hung around the home and given or kept as keepsakes gifts. In fact as is usually the case, one of the first Love Tokens I created was custom made for a friend of my daughter who is 7 yrs old. My daughter and I composed a special personalized message just for her, it featured a large red heart and was showered in crystals. Her mother explained to me later that once her daughter had read it she held it to her heart for ages as she sat watching T.V after school, then she carefully wrapped it back up and put next to her pillow. So sweet! She had recently moved to another school so missed my daughter and all her friends. It struck me then to name them Love Tokens once her mother explained to me that she knew her daughter would keep hers forever.

So indeed any of the zodiac signs could also be personalized with a message just for that individual receiving it. Each Love Token is backed with a layer of good old fashioned cork, with a green ribbon in the case of Pĭ śces representing the element.

This particular token reads:

Zō′dĭăc n. Belt of the heavens limited by lines about 8º from the ecliptic on each side, including all apparent positions of the sun, moon, and planets, and divided into 12 equal parts called signs of the zodiac Pĭ śces is the twelfth astrological in the zodiacal constellation. Pisces represents two fish tied together with a cord, it lies near Pegasus and Aquarius and representative Aphrodite (Venus) and her child Eros (cupid). The symbol from ichthyocentaurs who was aided Aphrodite when she was born. Feb 18 - Mar 20 Pĭ śces.

If you have a birthday this month, Happy Birthday to You! And if you know someone who would like this Love Token please share and add comments in the box below. Oh and if you can substantiate the claim made in the blog title then good for you! No really I don't expect you to comment ;-)

And if you're zodiac sign falls in Pisces or you know friends or family who are, I'd love to hear about the best traits they share with the sign in the comments box below.

The 10 Top Hot B-School Bonuses List 2015

Allow me introduce you to one of my online mentors, Marie Forleo. She comes in the guise of an Italian Jersey girl, based in New York City. Is a bestselling author and philanthropist, and founder of Marie Forleo International, a business coaching practice spreading her life coaching entrepreneurial messages through her online show Marie TV. So if you haven't already heard about her, that is understandable I only found out about her a few short years ago through an article written by the AstroTwins and have followed her weekly advice through Marie TV ever since and find it informative empowering and humorous.

Now let me just say that I am not affiliated with Marie in any way I simply admire her attitude and invaluable free content and quality business advice which I continue to benefit from. I have mentioned Marie before in a previous blog post on balancing work with other commitments in an interview on how to be a Great Mum whilst Growing your Business.

Well before we move on, here is a taste of Marie Forleo's latest video from Marie TV where she posts a weekly video to answer a viewers query/question, known as Q&A every Tuesday. Are The People Around you Dulling your Drive?

So What’s the Big Deal?

The reason why I felt it was time to blow my horn once again for Marie is well the doors of B-School have officially opened. Okay let me go back a bit, for those readers who have no clue about what I’m talking about. B-School is the brainchild of Marie Forleo which I would describe as an online marketing and business academy for those who wish to learn and apply the essential tools and learn all the none cheesy effective ways to successfully market and create the business of your dreams from the ground up. Marie is very passionate about her purpose and what she offers to her clients, followers and fans. She uses all her strategies from all her years of building up her successful business. This is an 8 week online training Program which teaches you step by step how to build a profitable brand. Enrollment closes March 4 2015.

Well I don’t know about you guys but my inbox is full of offers by affiliates of Marie who themselves all run highly successful online businesses, all teaching and inspiring others, and are also all mentors whose work I follow, and whose webinars I've attended and tutorials and newsletters I follow. And guess what they all have in common is that they're all friends a unique umbrella of high quality professionals, which makes me think of that old saying "show me your company and I'll show you who you are" some have taken Marie’s B-School and give it the 5 Star rating it seems to deserve.

Now I have yet to boast about attending B-School but I know that if you’re ready for it then the value of your investment is paid back in dividends, I have certainly been the recipient of many an email and informative no bullshit videos and webinars with Marie Forleo herself, who personally addresses all queries and questions surrounding B- School and its content. Leaving me totally inspired. Here’s what I can tell you the doors open every year and only once a year for a limited period of time. Marie and her team choose individuals to join B-School Scholarship free of charge, after watching each and every video submission they receive. This year Marie and her team chose 54 recipients for this years 2015 B-School Scholarship.

Once you join B-School you are an Alumni for life and have access to a vibrant active supportive community of thousands and thousands of B-School members worldwide. A big fat plus when you’re a solopreneur with big dreams for business. I've got to admit I would love the opportunity to walk through the B-School doors and soak up all that good stuff. If this sounds like it’s for you and you want to go straight through the doors here’s your link.

Now remember how earlier I mentioned those affiliates, now what makes them so special to B-School is that they each offer their own valuable bonuses some of which are free if you choose to sign up through them which is perfect if for example,  you are all in to Astrology and you find that the AstroTwins are offering free Astrology Readings to all who book through them. More about them later, you get the gist! And well since my inbox is full of B-School offers that I can’t take advantage of this year I thought I may as well share them with you. 5 Top Tips on Creating Your Talents

According to my mum I have been drawing and making things with whatever I could get hold of since being very young. At age 4 when I asked her for paper and informed her that I was to draw her a egg in an egg cup which according to her I went onto do to her surprise, and apparently it was rather good!

Of course now she regrets not saving the infamous toddler print ....apparently for her that is when my talent first appeared, so naturally she began as well as other members of my family to nurture it, at my continual requests for more paper more pens, paints and glue...but hang on a minute now I'm asking myself isn't this what all kids get upto from the age of 3 upwards! So did my early yearnings earmark me as being talented and creative, or is it learned or a natural in-built ability, and if so, then surely its quite possible to have a generous combination of both?

Had my mother not observed my growing interests from such a young age who knows whether I would have continued to pursue my interests, which looking back I can clearly see that I had a strong pattern of making things and spending many hours growing up and teaching myself about different artistic processes and trying new things out, and finding out that I was uncomfortable with like paintings which is not my strength, but excelled in skills like screen printing and sculpture. Through this I discovered my strengths and weaknesses, my likes and dislikes, and eventually being confident enough to pursue my interests further, through chosen subjects at High School and followed through to my admission into a top Art College aged 16. From there I was further exposed to different disciplines, methods and influences all contributing towards my creative development, ideas and artistic identity.

For many years and even today I would shy away from my family and friends telling me how talented they felt I was backing it up with their personal testimonials of not being able to draw themselves, or they would poke fun at themselves with statements that they could only draw stick men. I remember always feeling a little awkward at these statements and assuring them that everybody could learn how to draw, my insistence based on nothing more than my own experiences, and that it was surely a matter of interest and practice. After all I can still clearly remember being 16 yrs old and half-way through a life drawing class at Art College looking over my shoulder at a fellow student's canvas who had a truly Da Vinci style, and looking back at my work and thinking "what pants" back then I thought it was primitive in comparison, I can recall thinking where is my talent now? The truth is we all had different styles and interpretations, no two of us were the same. I suppose Art College was the first time that I was truly in a arena of other young budding creative kids where we were all finding and mastering our crafts and talents.

Is Creativity a Talent I Can Call My Own

So all this has me thinking is creativity a talent that I can call my own, or something I was born with or something we are all born with, it has certainly felt natural for me all these years later. Or is it simply all the years of persistence, determination of sketching, painting murals on my bedroom walls, studying and reading, making and giving gifts away to family and friends, challenging myself to make new things along the way.

I found an interesting article by Vince Favilla M.S an expert in Business Psychology Communication and Mastering Emotions. The article is called How To Develop Your Creativity, that may go some way to support my thinking.

Genius is 99% perspiration and only 1% inspiration.-Thomas Edison

So here's the good news, to all creativity deniers YOU ARE CREATIVE if you have written an essay changed a recipe and taken a new route to work. I know I'm guilty as charged. So no creativity is not a talent for artists alone and just as I suspected.

"We're all born with the ability to think creatively and solve problems."

And It Gets Better....

Here are 5 Tips for Developing your Creativity by Vince Favilla

Tip 1# Don't Fear Failure

As creativity requires courage to explore new ideas and brainstorming - did you know that we do our most creative work when alone. This is because you're free to express yourself without fear of judgement.

Tip 2# Work Hard

As Vince puts it "The Creative Process is Messy" Be prepared for lots of de-cluttering and know when to let something go, to be replaced by something better. This has rang true for me many times, in the case of my initial idea of gift boxes which I was attached to has given way to greeting cards which I sell in greater quantities and that actually gives me much more room to play with ideas and as a result has been more expansive for me...hmm which has me thinking that I may have to revise my name to just Glitterbug and leave off the rest.

Tip 3# Look For Connections

Some actionable advice from Vince is to take two unrelated objects and find commonalities between them. Vince goes onto use the following examples,

What do a rock and a candle have in common?
What does a car have in common with bottled water?
How is an iPhone like High School?

Doing exercises like this will teach your brain how to look for creative connections. Metaphors work in much the same way.

Tip 4# Try New Things

I know this one sounds obvious and it is all too easy to stick to what we already know, rather than step out of our comfort zone. After all how else are we to learn or be inspired which could help us solve a problem in  an unpredictable way in other areas of our lives or move us in a new direction. The very first greeting card I made came from a conversation with a lady who specialized in Social Media and teaching as well as helping me with my Facebook account. I remember waking up in the middle of the night excited by the new idea that I had for the very first Glitterbug Card "Ruby Red Platform Shoe" the image of which you will find at the end of this post. After which I went on to create so many more card designs which led to them being stocked in shops and created much interest.

Tip 5# Stop Trying So Hard

Leave the Monkey mind behind, you know the non stop internal dialogue flicking from one thought to another. And instead practice what Vince calls Mindfulness, which he describes as "one of the most powerful techniques for creative development "which actively involves "getting out of your head and paying attention to your environment- what you can see, hear smell, feel and taste."

Which for me is as close to yoga as your going to get, and I find that regular cross country running is excellent at providing that space and detachment from my thoughts.

According to his findings, you can lose track of opportunities when your inner thoughts are all you focus upon. We have all experienced at some point how the harder we fixate on a problem the further away the solution gets.

So never consider yourself a non creative ever again, as it simply is not true. We all have the creative talent and abilities that can be learned and mastered, we can each make more of it, it all comes down to where we want to put our attention.

Have I wasted my time opening an Etsy Shop?

So I have spent my time this week feeling quite exhilarated as I've tirelessly and patiently spent many days and most nights (4 to be exact) uploading upto 95 of my product images which include greeting cards, Love-tokens and Gift Boxes, now all to be found all in one place which are now available to buy from my new Etsy store.

It feels kind of awesome to look back and realise just how much I have achieved since I started out. Although I can't help thinking whether my little shop of glitter will just be passed by in the shoal of all the other sellers in the Sea of Etsy.

The truth is I have no idea how well I will do on Etsy. I appreciate that my marketing efforts and research are all I have to rely on, unless the Etsy Tsars decide to feature me. I have deliberately stayed away from the gossip, blog posts and horror stories of previous Etsy store owners who have suffered copyright breaches and other various misfortunes.

I realise that I have long missed the honeymoon period that was Etsy's earlier appeal. And have continued to open a shop despite its obvious over saturation, perhaps making it no longer a niche market place as it was once favoured for.

Here's the thing, whenever I sell my work at art stalls or through shops, or have orders bought through word of mouth, my customers always ask me where they can buy my work online. So now I have somewhere to direct them.

I would love for you to take 5 and follow this link and take a browse at my new store, or bookmark it to check it out later when you have more time. And if you see at least one item you like, then please share this article and favourite my Etsy page.

Do you Love or Hate Etsy, or have any advice to impart on me? I'd love to find out so please let me know in the comments box below.

Just before I go here is my Etsy URL.

Why its all about you this month?

Aquārius its all about you this month. Astrology is amongst my many interests and I couldn't quite get the theme to work with my gift boxes or greeting cards. Yet with the tokens its a perfect fit. To learn about my Love-Tokens and see more of the range, read hereThe water carrier Aquārius Jan 20 - Feb 18 being a summer constellation in the northern hemisphere found near Pisces and Cetus. One cosmic interesting fact is that we are expecting one of the largest meteor showers known as the Delta Aquarid Meteor so look out for that in late July and early August.

And what makes February an especially double whammy month is the very public celebration and expectations of St Valentines Day. Here's my equation especially for those of you actually born on the day Bday 14th Feb + Valentines Day = Super Charismatic, at least it was that way for my late grandfather. So no pressure for you to have a super nova month right which ever side of the month you fall on. Well why not, I love my Aquarius family member and friends, I certainly seem to attract alot of them, probably due to them being really easy going with a straight talking manner, and heaps of fun among their many other plus traits. Bravo to you all!

Aquarius Love-tokens

Each Zodiac Love Token has a hand written description of the Zodiac sign mentioned and as many facts as I could include on each tile. The symbol itself is finished in a dark gold bold astrological symbol and lays on a background of pencil crayoned colour shaded paper, the text is then applied by hand. Let me tell you making these were very therapeutic, there is nothing like art therapy. Originally created to be tea coasters, but hey come on now they are just too attractive and others too decorative to be hidden and covered in coffee stains.

So indeed any of the zodiac signs could also be personalized with a message just for that individual receiving it. Each Love Token is backed with a layer of good old fashioned cork, with a blue ribbon representing Aquārius the element of water.

This particular token reads:

dĭăc n. Belt of the heavens limited by lines about 8º from the ecliptic on each side, including all apparent positions of the sun, moon, and planets, and divided into 12 equal parts called signs of the zodiac Aquārius. The water carrier is the eleventh astrological sign of t hf zodiac. The symbol of water bearer is based on Hyas who was killed by wild beasts while fetching water from the river Jan 20 - Feb 18 Aquārius.

If you have a birthday this month, Happy Birthday to You! And if you know someone who would like this Love Token please share and add comments in the box below.

Not the romantic type?

With the official month of Love around the corner and fast approaching, as we begin to notice the steady doses of amour around the high st, and get ready for seeing way too many shades of red in our faces, heart shaped balloons and teddy bears to mention. We all know that its not long now, before all florists on the planet will be bursting at the seams with all manner of the well loved classical red roses, that become irresistible to buy. All very delightful for those of you in-love, dating or just-married. Not so much fun for us happy singles, the non sentimental and those among us with discerning tastes which don't rotate around St.Valentines Day.

So whether you absolutely love this time of year and mark it in your calender, or hold your breath waiting for that soppy short period to pass you by. When you can look forwards to the relief that comes from knowing that you can once again resume going to your favourite restaurant, and sit at your favourite table, safe in the knowledge that it has not been gatecrashed by starry eyed couples, promising each other a night of smoked lit candle wicks and romance.

Well hopefully I will appeal to both the soft-touches and hard-asses among you, let me delight you with my handpicked selection of not so gushy fabulous blank, and simply gorgeous greeting cards. Mostly for her (guys I'm working on a range of cards for you) lovable love-tokens, which can be hanged about ones abode and the classic neat mini gift boxes which started this show on the road which you can read all about here in your own time.

Are you celebrating your birthday this month?

Last month I introduced a project I've really enjoyed exploring and developing, which is my growing collection of Love Tokens. If you are new to my blog and simply have no idea what I'm going on about, then I'd strongly advise you to catch up on last months short post, where you can also view the a sample of the full collection of Love Tokens here. But before you zip off let me select one token from the Zodiac collection to share with you. Astrology is amongst my many interests and I couldn't quite get the theme to work with my gift boxes or greeting cards. Yet with the tokens its a perfect fit, and since we are well and truly on our way through January into the Că′ prĭcoȓn season Dec 22 - Jan 20 also marked by the winter solstice (summer in the southern Hemisphere) we notice our days become increasingly longer and lighter. It is only right that I raise a glass to all Capricorns and those celebrating their birthdays this month. Personally I know a few..Cheers!

Capricorn  Love Token

Each Zodiac Love Token has a hand written description of the Zodiac sign mentioned and as many facts as I could include on each tile. The symbol itself is finished in a dark gold bold astrological symbol and lays on a background of pencil crayoned colour shaded paper, the text is then applied by hand. Let me tell you making these were very therapeutic, there is nothing like art therapy. Originally created to be tea coasters, but hey come on now they are just too attractive and others too decorative to be hidden and covered in coffee stains.

Each Love Token is backed with a layer of good old fashioned cork, with a silver ribbon in the case of Că′ prĭcoȓn representing the element.

This particular token reads:

Zō′dĭăc n. Belt of the heavens limited by lines about 8º from the ecliptic on each side, including all apparent positions of the sun, moon, and planets, and divided into 12 equal parts called signs of the zodiac Că′ prĭcoȓn. The symbol of the Goat is the tenth sign of the zodiac. A cardinal sign with element of earth. Both Goat and Fish, in Greek mythology Pricus father of the race of sea goats. loses them to the shore where they turn into Goats, unable to return to sea. Dec 20 - Jan 20 Că′ prĭcoȓn.
